May 8th – Two undergrads get exciting internships at Los Alamos over the summer

Undergraduate students Stefania Miranda and Michael Schenck have both been offered positions at the Los Alamos National Laboratory over the summer of 2025! Stefania will be working in the Center for Integrated Nanotechnologies under the guidance of Dr. Han Htoon and Dr. Andrew Jones, both Staff Research Scientists. She will be characterizing quantum light emitters in variety of 2D material including hBN, MoO3, and transition metal dichalcogenides, using layer by layer stacking systems, atomic force microscopy (AFM), SEM, and high temperature annealing systems.

April 21st – Undergrad heads to Oregon for a summer Process Engineering internship

Tripp Pientka, an undergraduate student, accepts an process engineering internship at Applied Materials for the summer of 2025! In Oregon, he will be working on chemical mechanical planarization, specifically streamlining current processes in operation there and enhancing workflow. We are very excited for him!
